Hello to all Mums and Dads! Here are details of Staffordshire school holidays 2013.
In Staffordshire, the spring-term commences on Monday 7th January. There are 30 days of learning before the half-term break. Children break-up for half-term on Friday 15th February. If you are looking for somewhere to take them, there is a much anticipated MG show at Stoneleigh Park, which will feature a fabulous display of classic British motor cars. This is something the whole family can enjoy, including the grandparents!
As usual, it's just a week off for half-term. The second period of the spring-term involves just 24 days of teaching. This will take us up to the Easter holidays, beginning on Friday 29th March. By the way, make a note that Easter Sunday falls on the 31st of March in 2013, so you will have only 2 days to prepare for the big day. If you were planning to do any special baking with the kids, try and buy the ingredients during the week, so that Saturday doesn't become an awful rush!
Looking for something for the children to do, this Easter in Staffs? While you might shudder to imagine the carnage your little-terrors might cause with a bow and arrow, they will love the new multi-million pound archery centre that is opening in time for Easter 2013, in Penkhull. It's an opportunity for Staffordshire school-chidren to learn an Olympic sport, with state of the art facilities and world-class coaching staff. The Easter break lasts for 2 full-weeks, in 2013.
Summer term starts on Thursday 11th April. There will be 31 days of classes, taking you up to the mid-term vacation starting on Friday 24th May. May Day falls on Monday 6th May, by the way, so do be aware of that. The dates for Staffordshire County Show are Wednesday 29th May and Thursday 30th May.The show is still a fantastic place to take your brood. There are usually motorbike stunt displays, livestock best-of-breed competitions and opportunities for younger children to physically interact with the less dangerous animals.
It's back to school again on Monday 3rd of June, with a marathon 35 teaching-days, before the long summer break. This begins on Monday 22nd July, hopefully with some fine weather! There is so much to do in Staffs during the summer that you are really spoiled for choice. No summer is complete without a trip to Alton Towers. It's thrilling selection of white-knuckle rides always means the place is packed out at weekends. We suggest visiting on a Monday or Tuesday, perhaps when the weather is a little overcast. Queues aren't so daunting on days like this and the kids will have just as much fun.
The Autumn-term begins on Monday 2nd September. Key dates, from that point and up to the end of 2013 have yet to be announced so please check back on this page at a later date.
